Gold Coast Ice Cream Truck Co.

Who doesn't love ice cream? Well now you can have a classic 1967 Good Humor Ice Cream Truck at your next event in the Long Island and NYC areas thanks to the Gold Coast Ice Cream Truck Co. How cool would that be to have a vintage ice cream truck at your next event? The servers are dressed in bowties and 1960's style outfits.

"We have lovingly restored our 1967 Good Humor Ice Cream truck close to its original condition. At nearly every step of the process we met people who would sigh and say, "Ah I remember that truck from way back when..." Every single time we heard it, it made us happy. Even a local police officer came by to ask us about it and share his own childhood memories. Now, we are happy to offer this experience to those who remember it and to those who perhaps never got the chance, to all of our clients in the New York area.
Our restored 1967 Ford Good Humor Ice Cream Truck was literally built to deliver. She has the original Good Humor logo baked into the porcelain freezer box. This truck is the one your momma might remember, driving down the road with bells chiming, delivering treats to the kids. With jingling bells and tiny freezer doors, she is chock full of cute details reminiscent of old times!
The truck is equipped with a cold plate freezer which means we don’t have tohave the truck running throughout your event – no noisy generator.
Our truck is available for private and corporate events. Truck rentalis also available for commercial and motion picture use."

I want to have a party now so I can book them!!! These are some of the services they offer...I'm loving all of it!

Five Fingers

Most of the time...I will be a sucker for fashion or something that is new and quirky...so check these out...what do you think of these? They are the Vibram Five Fingers slippers slash shoes.

In some crazy way I am actually digging these...hmm...I wonder what they would feel like?

"The typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 muscles and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised. That’s why we recommend wearing FiveFingers for exercise, play, and for fun. Stimulating the muscles in your feet and lower legs will not only make you stronger and healthier, it improves your balance, agility and proprioception. "

Typography

Typography (Etymology: typos—type, graphos—written) is the art and technique of arranging type, type design, and modifying type glyphs. Type glyphs are created and modified using a variety of illustration technique. The arrangement of type involves the selection of typefaces, point size, line length, leading (line spacing), adjusting the spaces between groups of letters (tracking) and adjusting the space between pairs of letters (kerning).

That is the defintion of typography which I love...here are some stationery designs created by yours truly using the technique

Fall Weddings

It seems like summer just started(well not if you live in NYC as I do...all we have been getting is rain rain and more rain and it has not even been that hot to call it summer)...but I have Fall on the brain...I'm currently working with 6 lovely brides and their fall weddings.

I love the fall, I got married in the fall as well and there are so many gorgeous colors you can incorporate into your color scheme. All of my 6 brides have chosen the same color ranges which makes my job so much easier! We are working with oranges, chocolates and some greens...

Here is a little glimpse to some of the the invites I'm working on (of course all names and info have been changed...don't want my clients to be stalked!!!) :)

This is a version of my "Kate" design which I usually have done for bridal showers and birthdays. The bride loved it so much that we changed the colors to fit her scheme. Double layer flat invitation with metallic creme cardstock on top of a chocolate backing and embellished with swarovski crystals

This invite we are calling "Sahara" it has a beautiful burnt orange printed lace band also embellished with swarovski crystals
And there is "Marlee" which we have also designed as a Bridal Shower...the bride liked it and we are transforming it into her wedding invites...I have just been too lazy to have pictures taken of it...so I'm posting the bridal shower version...

and there are more which I will post soon along with a lovely inspiration board...and my site is still being re-Vamped so if you have any questions regarding any of my designs drop me a line...my info is on the right hand side :)

Pink Cupcake Birthday

Who doesn't love a cute cupcake huh? I received a custom order from a lovely customer who was getting things ready for her daughter's 2nd birthday. The theme was cupcakes....my favorite!!!

She wanted something cutesy but classy at the same time....so I worked with her and I came up with this...(which she loved by the way) and so did I.

It is a 5x5 double layer square invitation...I just happen to love square invitations. Wrapped in pink and white polka dot grossgrain ribbon, topped off with a cute personalized little cupcake seal.

She told me they were a big hit....and so I decided to list them in my etsy shop (since my site is still under construction!!!!)

Let me know what you think :)

Whitney Smith

Loving the pottery collection at Whitney Smith. All the pieces are so delicate and have the most lovely colors....you can see more here

"I fell in love with throwing clay on the wheel when I took a class at Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz in 1994. I had a fantastic teacher, Dan Martinez, who skillfully taught me all the basics, and allowed me to take many independent study classes to hone my talent. I went on to the University of California to study for a degree in anthropology, but I continued to work in my garage studio while assisting another Santa Cruz artist, Sandi Dihl, at her clay studio.

While I seriously considered going on to graduate studies for anthropology, I felt a deep passion for clay that I wanted to turn into a full-time living. After relocating to the Bay Area I worked as a floral designer in San Francisco and as an assistant for Bob Pool Pottery while continuing to develop my own ceramic business on the side. With the help and support of family, friends, and clients, I was able to make the leap to full-time ceramic artist in early 2000.My design sense is primarily informed by my obsession with flowers and other organic forms found in nature. It is also very important to me that my ceramic pieces are functional for everyday use, while being absolutely beautiful, refined, and unique. I have been strongly influenced by Art Nouveau and the Arts and Crafts movement of the 19th and early 20th Century. I like the look and feel of old things and antiques, and my glaze choices have a certain look that reminds people of an different era"

how cute is this a little cupcake stand!!!
